XVI Ministerial Forum on Development of Latin America and the Caribbean
From October 30 to November 1, 2024, Barbados hosted the XVI Ministerial Forum on Development of Latin America and the Caribbean, under the theme "Resilience in Action: Social Policies to Navigate Uncertainty."
The event brought together Ministers of Social Development, Environment, Finance, and other areas of the region to explore innovative strategies in the face of multifaceted challenges: economic inequalities, climate vulnerabilities, and the persistent impacts of the global pandemic.
Throughout the Forum, discussions deepened on how to strengthen adaptive and responsive social policies, capable of responding to evolving crises and ensuring that their benefits reach all segments of society. The discussions aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals and emphasized the interconnection of economic, social, and environmental dimensions.
Building on the XIII Ministerial Forum of 2021, the event analyzed new experiences and geopolitical dynamics, positioning the region to amplify its voice in global platforms such as the G20 and COP, guiding Latin America and the Caribbean toward a more equitable and resilient future.
