The 2024 Annual Report of UNDP Djibouti reflects a pivotal year, marked by intensified efforts towards sustainable, resilient, and inclusive development.

Amid multiple vulnerabilities — climatic, socio-economic, and structural — the UNDP Country Office in Djibouti focused its interventions on high-impact solutions, designed with and for communities. The year 2024 was thus driven by integrated climate action, with tangible progress in water access, land restoration, marine biodiversity protection, and community-based adaptation.

In the area of governance, efforts concentrated on strengthening public sector capacities, data-driven planning, access to justice, and citizen participation — notably through support to digital and territorial transformation.

UNDP also supported ambitious initiatives for the empowerment of women, youth, and vulnerable groups, while reinforcing social cohesion and promoting inclusive decentralization.

Through renewed partnerships with national authorities, local governments, civil society, the private sector, and technical and financial partners, UNDP mobilized resources, catalyzed innovation, and strengthened coordination to accelerate progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals.

This report highlights not only measurable results, but also a collective momentum built on trust, engagement, and a shared vision for Djibouti’s future.
