Panama, May 11, 2026. A delegation of United Nations ambassadors from the Executive Board of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) will undertake an official visit to Panama from 11 to 13 May 2026.

The visit will provide an opportunity for the delegation to engage in strategic dialogue with national partners and the United Nations system in Panama, and to observe first-hand the work of UNDP, UNFPA and UNOPS in support of national development priorities. 

During the mission, the delegation will meet with senior officials from government and state institutions, civil society, academia, United Nations entities and other partners. These engagements will provide an opportunity to discuss Panama’s development priorities, multilateral cooperation, and the coherence and impact of the United Nations system, including in the context of ongoing discussions on United Nations system-wide reform and UN80.

The programme includes visits to initiatives supported by UNDP, UNFPA and UNOPS that address key development priorities, including climate resilience and environmental governance in the Panama Canal watershed, social inclusion and governance, health services for adolescents and youth, the use of data for public policy, sustainable infrastructure, and women’s economic empowerment.

Together, UNDP, UNFPA and UNOPS support a broad portfolio of work in Panama at both the country and regional levels. The visit will offer an opportunity to highlight United Nations’ collaboration at the country level and to benefit from the Executive Board’s strategic insights.

Established by General Assembly resolution 48/162 in 1993, the Executive Board of UNDP, UNFPA, and UNOPS comprises 36 Member States. The Executive Board provides intergovernmental support and oversight to the three organizations, in line with the guidance of the United Nations General Assembly, the Economic and Social Council.

Delegación de la Junta Ejecutiva del PNUD, UNFPA y UNOPS realiza visita 
oficial a Panamá

Panamá, 11 de mayo de 2026. Una delegación de embajadores de las Naciones Unidas, perteneciente a la Junta Ejecutiva del Programa de las Naciones Unidas para el Desarrollo (PNUD), el Fondo de Población de las Naciones Unidas (UNFPA) y la Oficina de las Naciones Unidas de Servicios para Proyectos (UNOPS), realiza una visita oficial a Panamá del 11 al 13 de mayo de 2026.

La visita brindará a la delegación la oportunidad de sostener un diálogo estratégico con socios nacionales y con el Sistema de las Naciones Unidas en Panamá, y de observar, de primera mano, el trabajo del PNUD, el UNFPA y la UNOPS en apoyo a las prioridades nacionales de desarrollo.

Durante la misión, la delegación se reunirá con altas autoridades del gobierno y de instituciones del Estado, así como con representantes de la sociedad civil, la academia, entidades de las Naciones Unidas y otros socios. Estos encuentros ofrecerán la oportunidad de abordar las prioridades de desarrollo de Panamá, la cooperación multilateral y la coherencia e impacto del Sistema de las Naciones Unidas, incluso en el contexto de las discusiones en curso sobre la reforma integral del Sistema de las Naciones Unidas y la iniciativa UN80.

El programa incluye visitas a iniciativas apoyadas por el PNUD, el UNFPA y la UNOPS que responden a prioridades clave de desarrollo, entre ellas: la resiliencia climática y la gobernanza ambiental en la cuenca hidrográfica del Canal de Panamá; la inclusión social y la gobernanza; servicios de salud amigables para adolescentes; el uso de datos para la formulación de políticas públicas; infraestructura sostenible; y el empoderamiento económico de las mujeres.

En conjunto, el PNUD, el UNFPA y la UNOPS apoyan una amplia cartera de trabajo en Panamá, tanto a nivel nacional como regional. La visita brindará la oportunidad de destacar la colaboración de las Naciones Unidas a nivel de país y de beneficiarse de los aportes estratégicos de la Junta Ejecutiva.
