Dr. Mohamed bin Mubarak Bin Daina, Minister of Oil and Environment and Special Envoy for Climate Affairs, met with UN Resident Coordinator Khaled El Mekwad and UNDP Resident Representative Asmaa Shalabi. The discussions focused on strengthening cooperation between Bahrain and the UN system in tackling climate change and advancing sustainable development. Dr. Bin Daina reaffirmed Bahrain’s commitment to active participation in shaping international climate and environmental policies to safeguard the interests of the most vulnerable countries. El Mekwad praised Bahrain’s efforts in this field and confirmed the UN’s readiness to continue supporting the Kingdom in implementing related programmes and initiatives.
