With support from the Government of Japan, the International Labour Organization (ILO) and UNDP's B+HR Academy are organizing a Joint Training for Enterprises on Responsible Business and Decent Work in Bali, Indonesia on 20-22 September. 

This training is the first joint training organized by the ILO and the UNDP B+HR Academy targeting companies operating in Indonesia in the electronic manufacturing sector, in particular those that are part of global supply chains in the industry.

The event includes training on human rights due diligence (HRDD), with the curriculum developed based on UNDP's Human Rights Due Diligence Training Facilitation Guide and context assessments on responsible business practices of Indonesian and Japanese companies operating in Indonesia. 

The training will also cover labour rights, with a focus on decent work targeting Japanese-linked electronics manufacturing companies, based on Tripartite Declaration of Principles concerning Multinational Enterprises (MNEs) and Social Policy and an ILO study on the electronics industry in Indonesia and its integration into global supply chains.

The course will apply participatory and active engagement/learning approaches combining presentation/short lecture, case study, roleplay, and group works as well as Q&A sessions, in addition to online closed-door guidance sessions for selected individual companies.

Certificate of Attendance

Upon successful participation in the training and satisfactory completion of the training assessment (i.e., pre and post-test survey), participants will be given a certificate of attendance.

Language

The training will be conducted in Bahasa Indonesia, except for a session on the day-2 that will be delivered in English with interpreting services.

Date and Duration

The training will be conducted for three days on Wednesday to Friday on 20-22 September 2023 from 09.00 to 17.00 (Central Indonesia Time) each day, except the last day of Friday that will be concluded by 12.00.

Targeted participants

The ILO and UNDP joint training programme is targeting the Japanese global supply chains companies, mainly within electronics manufacturing sector, with the various level of positions of:
- Senior management/Board of Director
- CSR/Sustainability/ESG 
- Supply chain management 
- Procurement
- Human resources 
- Legal and compliance 
- Risk management
- Production management

Participation Cost

The ILO and the UNDP B+HR Academy joint training is not a commercial event. ILO and UNDP do not charge for attendance. As such, companies attending the training are responsible for their own travel costs, including flight tickets and in-ground transportation. However, the organizer will cover the meeting package and accommodation during the training. For accommodation, the participants are expected to check in on 19 September 2023 and check out on 22 September 2023.
