The Government of the Republic of The Gambia, in collaboration with the Goodluck Jonathan Foundation (GJF), International IDEA and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), are organizing the first-ever Sahel Governance Forum, under the theme “The Future of Governance: (Re)building Social Cohesion and Public Trust”, from 30 – 31 July 2025.

The forum will provide a unique space for exchanging experiences, analyzes, and practical solutions to the key challenges hindering progress in the Sahel. A major highlight will be the official launch of the first edition of the Future of Governance in the Sahel report, the culmination of a year of consultations, analysis, peer review, and expert input.

This programme serves as your guide to participation at the Sahel Governance Forum as we collectively reflect on how to restore public trust, strengthen social cohesion, and rethink the foundations of governance in a rapidly changing Sahel.
