Disaster Risk Reduction and Recovery

 

Our goals

The disaster risk reduction and recovery team, DRT, fosters the integration and mainstreaming of disaster risk reduction as a key element of sustainable development in the Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) region. Through its work, the DRT contributes to larger 2030 Agenda, the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction and contributes to the achievement of the Paris Agreement and the Urban Agenda.

The DRT works is support to the country offices in the LAC region to strengthen national and local capacities to further greater coherence of disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation efforts, improve access to risk information, enhance preparedness including through multi-hazard early warning systems, strengthen recovery systems and services and create resilient urban and rural communities.
