KSA livelihoods opportunities

UNDP in Yemen

Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) has partnered with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) through UNOCHA Yemen. Under the Yemen Humanitarian Response Plan (YHRP), the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSRelief) fund contributes to mitigating the crisis' impact on vulnerable households and communities. It also focuses on helping them recover faster and better from the conflict by using local systems, capacities and institutions to progressively resume and scale-up service delivery.

The KSRelief fund impact has been achieved through: (a) creating short-term employment by rehabilitating key service delivery infrastructure (e.g. roads, water, sanitation and hygiene); (b) boosting local food production capacity; and, (c) preserving and enhancing capacities of key national institutions such as the Public Works Projects (PWP). The KSA funded project targeted over 80 districts across 18 governorates of Yemen.
