Given the deteriorating scenario in Yemen since 2015, Government of Japan recognizes that Yemen is in a critical situation as many Yemeni people are suffering from serious poverty and food shortages. Government of Japan has been contributing in three projects: Building Resilient Livelihoods and Improving Protection Services for Conflict Affected Communities in Aden and Lahj, Emergency Water Supply and Sewage Sanitation in Aden and Mukalla Cities (WASH), and Rebuilding Livelihoods and Capacities of Conflict-Affected Small-Scale Fisheries Households in Aden and Hadramout (RELACC).
