UNDP Türkiye's National Visual Art Exhibition on violence against women is online

June 15, 2022

A digital exhibition comprising 47 successful pieces submitted to the National Visual Art Competition organized by UNDP Türkiye to raise awareness on violence against women is now online

Positioning gender equality at the centre of all its initiatives, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), in collaboration with Legal Design Turkey, has opened a digital exhibition consisting of the works that received commendations in its National Visual Art Competition. The contest was held in February 2022 to show that women are not alone in the face of violence.

With this competition and exhibition, in addition to raising awareness of violence against women, UNDP also aims to circulate the correct information and perspectives on the issue of violence against women, its various forms, and the reactions of the society and institutions to these acts.

The artworks submitted to the competition included photography, paintings, illustrations, graphic designs, collages and mixed techniques and were all adjudicated by expert jury members. Following jury evaluations, assessments to prove the authenticity of the artworks that were entitled to be exhibited were conducted by Teyit, a well-known fact-checking organization in Türkiye.
