Regional Private Sector Work In Africa

Based in UNDP Regional Service Centre for Africa (RSCA), the Inclusive Growth and Sustainable Development Cluster (IGSD) Private Sector Unit is working to accelerate progress toward the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by supporting the development of inclusive, pro-poor markets across Africa.

With Africa being a major focus of UNDP’s work, a regional project on Private Sector and Inclusive Market Development for Poverty Reduction, the “African Facility for Inclusive Markets” (AFIM), operated from 2010 to 2014. Since then, AFIM has been integrated into UNDP’s Regional Programme for Africa, which is implemented by the RSCA, based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The Private Sector Unit builds on the work done by AFIM, and has a particular focus on the promotion of Inclusive Business and Market Development in Africa.
