Telling stories and changing lives through the 'Stories from the Hapi Isles' virtual exhibition

June 1, 2022

Honiara, Solomon Islands – The UN Development Programme in Solomon Islands launches the first-ever virtual exhibition showcasing various sustainable development initiatives implemented in the country. The idea is to connect with people through human-centric stories to enhance their knowledge and understanding of development.

The #StoriesFromTheHapiIsles exhibit presents nine stories from across Solomon Islands to shine a spotlight on common issues and challenges faced by communities as well as how UNDP, together with its partners, helps advance the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and 2030 Agenda

The visitors will have an opportunity to learn more about UNDP’s initiatives focusing on youth and women’s empowerment, strengthening institutions, reducing inequalities, combating climate change and sustainable management of natural resources, promoting digital transformation, and other stories.

The online hall is the exact replica of the Honiara Art Gallery, and we hope you all will enjoy this virtual tour.

The #StoriesFromTheHapiIsles exhibition is being launched with the support of our development partners, including DFAT, UN Peacebuilding Fund, the European Union (EU), Global Environment Facility, the Government of Japan, and the UK Government.
