The Young Content Creator Project

The Young Content Creator Project

with Thai PBS and Facebook

Sometimes a lack of understanding around diversity and differences can cause conflicts, stereotypes and stigmas that stand in the way of social cohesion. But it is also clear that operating in the world of social media is a key tactic that can be used to promote peace and tolerance, and that the power of youth can and should be harnessed in order to achieve this.

Thai PBS and UNDP came together to organize the 'Young Content Creator Project': a media training programme for young content creators, journalists, and communications professionals between the ages of 15-30, brimming with the creative power to build mutual understanding around issues of diversity. Additional training was provided by Facebook.

The Young Content Creator Project is a platform for young people to learn about how differences enrich society. The participants receive opportunities to show their skills and creativity through the production of media contents in the topic of “Respect Difference, Embrace Diversity” published on social media channels. They also had the opportunity to connect with others in their field to create a network of new generation communicators with innovative ideas to create social change.
