UNDP Global Policy Centre for Governance

Our Focus

Overview

The Global Policy Centre for Governance (GPCG) is part of the Governance, Rule of Law and Peacebuilding Hub. Under its current programme phase (1 July 2026 to 31 December 2029), the Centre supports the implementation of the 2026–2029 UNDP Strategic Plan and contributes to UNDP's policy and programming priorities through evidence, policy innovation and country support across three interconnected areas:

  • Financial Integrity and systemic derisking approaches to strengthen enabling environments for sustainable development;

  • Data sharing, interoperability and transparency to strengthen data ecosystems, support evidence-based decision making and improve domestic resource mobilization;

  • Governance data and analytics, including UNDP's custodianship role of selected SDG 16 indicators and support to countries in producing and using governance statistics;

Working closely with UNDP Country Offices, Regional Hubs and partners the Centre develops and tests practical integrated solutions that strengthen institutions, build trust and improve the enabling conditions for sustainable development.
