The foresight report highlights the intersection between two megatrends — climate change and Malaysia’s changing demographic — and maps out the future implications of these shifts on two socio-economic areas; firstly, the nation’s economic structures and the labour market, and secondly, the well-being of the elderly and their families. 

Today, millions of older persons, children, and persons with disabilities remain confined to institutions, as a primary form of government provision of care in many countries. The report makes the case that strengthening the Care Economy through investments and social solutions can have a plethora of positive effects on people’s lives and the economy.

This report provides a comprehensive set of recommendations for the development and implementation of an Integrated National Financing Framework (INFF) in Malaysia. INFF is a planning and delivery tool that helps countries strengthen their planning processes and overcome existing impediments to financing sustainable development at the national level.
