The EWASME Sierra Leone Project Brief highlights progress in empowering women-led enterprises across the rice value chain. With a total budget of USD 2.12 million, the initiative targets 200 women-led enterprises, strengthening access to finance, business development services and market opportunities. Early results show that 90% of participating women report improved leadership capacity, while 80% report stronger business management skills. Designed by the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB), funded by the Women Entrepreneurs Finance Initiative (We-Fi), and co-financed and implemented by UNDP, the project contributes to women's economic empowerment, food security and Sierra Leone's Feed Salone agenda.
