An informed Civil Society is fundamental to contribute to political stabilization and to sustainable peace in Guinea-Bissau.

On October 1st, the over 20 Civil Society Organizations members of the Consultation Space in Guinea-Bissau participated in a training in mediation, as one of the means to solve conflicts, facilitated by a mediation expert.

“The training in mediation for the members of the Consultation Space contributed significantly to the reinforcement of the intervention capacities of the Civil Society Organizations grouped in this informal structure”, says Bubacar Ture, Vice-President of the Guinean Human Rights League (LGDH). “Civil Society Organizations must be equipped with tools to face the challenge of building bridges and promoting dialogue for the peaceful resolution of problems. In this particular context, the training provided was particularly important, as it provided participants with the skills necessary for the full performance of their duties to support the consolidation of peace in Guinea-Bissau.”
