Policy reform is crucial because policies define the “rules” of the system. Changing and enforcing policies will change the way the system works. In the context of reducing the negative environmental impacts from agricultural commodities production, appropriate policies are needed to ensure that agricultural production is highly efficient, resilient, and regenerative.
