About us
UNDP works in about 170 countries and territories, helping to eradicate poverty, reduce inequalities and exclusion, and build resilience so countries can sustain progress. As the UN’s development agency, UNDP plays a critical role in helping countries achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.
Funding and delivery
In order to achieve its mandate, UNDP relies entirely on voluntary contributions from UN Member States, multilateral organizations, private sector and other sources, in the form of unrestricted regular resources (core), and contributions earmarked for a specific theme, programme or project.
Legal Framework
In August 1978, the United Nations Development Programme and the Kingdom of Bahrain signed the Standard Basic Agreement. Since then, UNDP in Bahrain has been supporting national progress and helping promote the achievement of national priorities for the population of Bahrain. UNDP and the UN
The UNCT aims at enhancing interagency coordination and decision making at the country level, and allows for individual agencies to plan and work together, as part of the United Nations Development System, to ensure delivery of results in support of national develompent goals and priorities, including the 2030 Economic Vision, the Government Action Plan, as well as the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and to promote the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals.
