The climate crisis and COVID-19 have delivered a double whammy to those living in crisis. And in times of emergency, it is always the vulnerable who bear the brunt. All eyes are on Ukraine, where the flexibility of Core Resources is enabling UNDP to work as swiftly and decisively as the situation demands. But we haven’t taken our eyes off Yemen or Afghanistan, or Somalia or South Sudan, or Myanmar. Flexible funding allows us to work with those who need help the most. It gives the world’s poorest countries support as they battle poverty and inequality, work towards sustainable development, and build resilience to the crises and shocks that are coming.
