Independent Country Programme Evaluation: Guatemala

Independent Country Programme Evaluation: Guatemala

August 19, 2026

Covering the period 2022–2025, extended to 2026, the Independent Country Programme Evaluation conducted in Guatemala assesses UNDP's contribution to national development priorities in a context marked by political polarization, institutional challenges and persistent inequalities affecting indigenous and rural communities. It highlights UNDP's role in supporting evidence-based social protection, facilitating dialogue during a complex political transition, and strengthening capacities for climate resilience and local development. The evaluation also identifies opportunities to reinforce the sustainability of results and deepen engagement with populations most at risk of being left behind as UNDP prepares its next country programme in Guatemala.
