This thematic evaluation examines the UNDP support to electoral processes between 2015 and 2025. Beyond assessing the relevance, coherence and effectiveness of its assistance across diverse country contexts, it highlights the UNDP contribution to strengthening electoral institutions, participation and credibility, while also identifying recurring challenges related to sustainability, risk management and engagement in complex political environments. The evaluation draws lessons to inform more strategic, context‑sensitive and integrated support to electoral processes as part of broader democratic governance efforts, helping UNDP to adapt and strengthen its future engagement in this area.
