• 26 September 2015: Special High-level Event - Localizing the SDGs Through New Rural Communities

    H.E. Park Geun-hye, President of the Republic of Korea, during this event, will highlight the importance of translating the SDGs into national agendas through learning and scaling-up successful rural and local development initiatives.

  • On 27 September, during the United Nations Sustainable Development Summit, UNDP will be co-hosting a youth-led High Level Event focusing on the Role of Youth in the Implementation and Monitoring of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

  • COP21 Paris climate change conference

    At COP21 in Paris in December 2015, the world will meet to negotiate a new climate change agreement. A universal agreement that covers all countries, developed and developing, the COP21 climate deal will serve as the starting point for a long-term effort to stop global temperatures from rising more than­ 2°C (3.6 degrees Fahrenheit).

    The theme of International Day for the Eradication of Poverty 2015 is “Building a sustainable future: Coming together to end poverty and discrimination”.

  • 13-16 July: Third International Conference on Financing for Development

    In Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, high-level political representatives will adopt an international agreement setting out how the post-2015 sustainable development agenda will be financed.

  • 6-8 May: Social Inclusion of Women - From Beijing to Post-2015

    UNDP, with UN Women and the Government of Argentina, will convene a Global Conference entitled “Women and Social Inclusion: From Beijing to Post-2015,” as part of a year-long series of events commemorating the twentieth Anniversary of the Beijing Platform for Action(BPfA).

  • 14-18 March: World Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction

    The 3rd UN World Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction takes place from 14 to 18 March in Sendai, Japan. UNDP has been engaged with partners and Member States in the development of a Post-2015 Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction - a successor to the Hyogo Framework for Action - that will be launched at the Conference.
