UNDP clarifies its relationship with Segolene Royal

Jun 19, 2009

UNDP, through its office in Geneva, has indeed been in discussions with Ms. Ségolène Royal, as the President of the Regional Council of Poitou-Charentes, within the context of cooperation between regional and local communities in the developed countries and those in the developing world, in particular as regards issues of climate change. UNDP is working closely with a large number of regional communities in France and the rest of Europe on that topic.
Ms. Royal has not been appointed a “UNDP Ambassador,” but we are counting on her experience and her commitment, in her capacity as a regional council president, to enhance cooperation and exchanges of ideas among different regions of the world in the area of climate change, as indeed we are doing with other personalities.
