Norway
As one of our largest government contributors, Norway is a vital partner in UNDP’s mission to end extreme poverty, reduce inequality and achieve the goals of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. UNDP’s work and the priorities of the Norwegian Government converge in many areas, especially in our shared ambition to help countries reach the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through promoting democratic governance; strengthening national prevention capacities and building resilience; and action on climate change and the environment.
Norway hosts the Oslo Governance Centre, one of five UNDP Global Policy Centres, providing it with some $2.6m per year. The Centre supports applied research and policy dialogue on inclusive governance in crisis, conflict and transitional contexts, and the implementation and monitoring of SDG 16: peace, justice and strong institutions.
