Oslo III

Oslo III

UNDP Mauritania/Freya Morales

In 2016 and 2018 the UNDP Oslo Governance Centre (OGC) brought a global community together to create a common understanding of what could be learnt from the past and each other to inform future work on preventing violent extremism.

In 2021, from June 14 to 16, OGC hosted the third Oslo global conference on PVE in partnership with the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Oslo III looked at the 'Emerging Trends in Violent Extremism and the Future of Prevention' and aimed to understand how the violent extremism landscape has evolved since the onset of COVID-19 and to distil lessons for future research, policy and programming as well as develop new prevention approaches.

Oslo III was available this time in a virtual format allowing people from around the world an opportunity to be part of this important event as well as to share their experiences with policymakers, practitioners and researchers. The live-stream of the sessions took place on OGC's YouTube at this link.
