UNDP Lesotho Accelerator Lab

We are working on greening the agricultural sector, e-health, community policing, environmental protection and waste management.

The UNDP Lesotho Accelerator Lab is working on various initiatives to support the country in response to COVID-19 by strengthening the agricultural sector to increase produce and improve green value chains. Secondly, we work to introduce e-health and related health surveillance activities. One other main challenge involves the expansion of the community policing experiment meant to improve crime reporting at the community level. Environmental protection is another challenge the Lab is working on for sustainable and responsible consumption of plastic and management of plastic waste. The Lab is also working with other UN agencies such as UNICEF, on issues of inclusive education and the development of a joint fund proposal. The Lab uses various methods to carry out their work, such as collective intelligence workshops, solution mapping, face-to-face interviews and participatory observation. Social media platforms are also used to source solutions and well as collecting the views of people on experiments conducted by the Lab.
