The inaugural session of the LocalLens Webinar Series, hosted by the Bangkok Regional Hub (BRH), marked the launch of a dynamic new platform dedicated to advancing innovative local governance and sustainable development.

 

About the LocalLens Webinar Series

The LocalLens Webinar Series is designed to promote knowledge sharing and collaboration among key stakeholders in local governance. By spotlighting innovative models and strategies, the series aims to strengthen efforts to advance the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and drive impactful change at the local level.

 

Purpose of the Inaugural Session

The first webinar convened government officials, policymakers, development practitioners, academics, and civil society representatives from Thailand and Indonesia. It showcased pioneering localization efforts in both countries, which are at the forefront of testing innovative local governance approaches. The discussion featured initiatives such as the Village SDGs Initiative (SDG Desa), Voluntary Local Review (VLR), Social Innovation Platform (SIP) approach in Indonesia and the ‘Strengthening SDG Localization in Thailand’ initiative.
