HIV and Health Annual Report 2022-2023 | Halfway to 2030: Accelerating progress on the Sustainable Development Goals

April 16, 2024

The HIV and Health Annual Report showcases the progress made in the face of profound global turbulence at the halfway mark to Agenda 2030. Accelerating action on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) requires the acknowledgment of the pivotal role that health plays both as a driver and outcome of sustainable development. In 2022-2023, UNDP continued to work with partners to support countries and communities to advance health-related SDGs and deliver on the pledge to leave no one behind. The HIV and Health Annual Report shares UNDP's work across three key action areas: reducing inequalities and exclusion that drive HIV and poor health; promoting effective and inclusive governance for health; and building resilient and sustainable systems for health.

This report highlights innovative and inclusive solutions across these action areas, including stories behind these significant numbers for 2022-2023:

•    148 countries supported on health
•    104 countries supported on HIV
•    57 countries supported through the UNDP-Global Fund partnership
•    87 countries supported on COVID-19 health systems response
•    65 countries supported to address gender equality and gender-based violence
•    84 countries supported on LGBTI rights and inclusion
•    89 countries supported on non-communicable diseases prevention and control, including tobacco
•    59 countries supported on the nexus of health, environment and climate
