Produced as part of the UNDP/JWIDF project: Building Capacity of Women Micro Entrepreneurs in the Informal Sector through Information and Communication Technologies in India.

    This documentary illustrates how local women actively participate
    d in the reconstruction of their war-torn community with the support of the ACLEDA micro-finance institution. It also shows how support from UNDP and the Government of Japan created a synergetic effect on post-conflict reconstruction.

  • Peru: The Millennium Development Goals
    [Video, 4 mins. 33 secs.: English, Spanish and Portuguese]

    This video is one of the MDG campaigning tools aimed to introduce gender equality as integral to the attainment of the MDGs in Peru.  It was widely used throughout the UN Millennium Campaign as well as other high level conferences and public addresses by key officials.

    Produced as part of the UNDP/JWIDF multi-funded project: Gender and MDGs project - Peru was one of the five pilot projects.
     

  • Peru: Género y Metas Del Milenio
    [Audio, 5 minutes and 26 seconds: Spanish]

    This CD includes the radio program which helped to effectively engage much of the population on many of the important MDG related issues facing women in Peru.

  • Gender Sensitive Budgeting Training Manual (2005)

  • This training manual on Gender Sensitive Budgeting (GSB) was developed for the UNDP/JWIDF-supported regional gender budgeting Training of Trainers workshops by Debbie Budlender in Moscow with revisions made in Manila, and further refined by Nalini Burns in French for the Dakar Workshop. This manual was used for other regional gender training programmes, including Cairo, thus contributing to the wider knowledge dissimilation of GSB.

  • This assessment report analyzes the socio-economic impacts of China’s accession to the WTO on women and men in industry and agriculture, and presents measures to help women benefit from new opportunities. It is the first research report of its kind produced by local experts.

  • Chile: Mujeres, Brechas de Equidad y Mercado de Trabajo en Chile (2004)
    [Spanish]
  • This study, Women, Equity Gaps and Labour Market in Chile investigates the relationship between gender and poverty and the fundamental role of employment in poverty alleviation. It provides a guideline for discussion with the members of the Consultative Council and for the formulation of policy proposals.

  • This paper, “Chile Solidarity System and the Challenges of Equality,” contains (1) an introduction – “Is Chile Solidarity System an innovative public policy for the eradication of poverty?”; (2) proposals to strengthen gender perspective within the Chile Solidario System of Social Protection; (3) study of families and population in the Chile Solidarity System; and (4) study of labour and gender in the Chile Solidario System of Social Protection at the local level in two municipal districts in the Metropolitan Region.
