More than 1,000 Syrian Expatriates from 36 countries participated in a conference to discuss incentives for reversing the brain-drain in Syria.
13 July, 2006— Like other developing countries, Syria is losing its skilled laborers and professionals who are seeking opportunities abroad. Throughout the world, this exodus of expertise has created a major problem: as educated professionals take both their knowledge and their capital abroad, their countries of origin are deprived of development opportunities.
