Procurement certification

UNDP is in the process of preparing a procurement certification programme to UNDP staff to stimulate and recognize the professionalization of the procurement profession.

Level 1 is a self-paced on-line course available to UNDP staff through the UNDP Learning Management System. To access LMS click here.

Level 2 will be an on-line course that requires the completion of a work-based assessment project. The course will be available in 2009 through the UNDP Learning Resource Centre.

Levels 3 and 4 will be formal procurement certification courses built around three parallel procurement professionalization pillars (A, B, C):

A) Procurement Planning & Strategy
B) Negotiation/Communication in Procurement
C) Contract and Supplier Relationship Management

All courses at Levels 3 and 4 require the completion of work-based assessment projects. Successful participation will generate the following formal certificate:

Level 3: Certificate in Purchasing and Supply
Level 4: Diploma in Purchasing and Supply
