Introduction
Goal:
- To
provide an opportunity for participants to bring their experience
in the sectors of water, waste, and energy to the discussion and
promote their own successes, identify obstacles, build consensus
on the underlying problems, and network with other organizations.
- To
relate these experiences to the potential role for partnerships in
sustainable development
- To use
this data to point to conclusions that lead to implementation
recommendations
- To document background information on participants and their projects and to maintain a database with this information to develop the PPP network
|
Description
Participants worked in three groups (water, waste and energy) containing 40 to 65 individuals each. These participants represented organisations with experience with PPP or had direct knowledge of partnerships in urban areas in developing countries.
Outcome Desired
Discussions take the expert panel's inputs and test them against specific examples in the three sectors. The tentative conclusions of Round I are tested one by one though qualitative discussion and then followed up with simple qualitative survey tools for further support. Conversations and survey information were recorded, summarised, and provided to the Internet site.
