It is the goal of PPPUE to work with and through existing institutions. PPPUE is designed to provide specific expertise on private sector participation that is complementary to many existing initiatives engaged in urban environmental problem solving. PPPUE therefore works with a variety of partners at the country, regional, and global levels.

UNDP/PPPUE has signed Memoranda of Understanding with a number of institutions, including the

• Public-Private Infrastructure Advisory Facility (PPIAF)
• Yale University
• World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD)
• Carl-Duisberg Gesellschaft e. V. (CDG)
• Environmental Management Secretariat of the International Development Research Centre (IDRC-EMS)
• Urban Management Programme of Latin America
• United Nations Centre for Human Settlement (UNCHS)
• International Development Research Council (IDRC)

In addition, PPPUE will continue to collaborate with major urban-environment, local governance and private sector related programmes of the UNDP Bureau for Development Policy (BDP) and the Regional Bureaux.

PPPUE offers many windows of opportunity for partners from around the world, including donor governments, developing country governments, municipalities and local gove rnment associations, private sector associations, NGOs, communities, foundations, academic institutions and development agencies.

PPPUE invites interested parties to join the facility through:

• Becoming a member of the Consultative Group by contributing to the PPPUE Trust Fund.
• Supporting PPPUE National Programmes through co-financing arrangements at the country level.
• Participating in the Global Learning Network by jointly organising activities at the global, regional or local level.
