PEP Events
The initial results of the Poverty-Environment Partnership (PEP) were presented during two events, together called Environment for the MDGs, on 14 September in New York City — timed to coincide with the start of the 2005 World Summit. In the afternoon, a policy dialogue made the economic case for the link between environment and poverty reduction. That evening, a head of state dinner highlighted the critical link between these two issues and signaled growing political support for a scaled-up role of the environment in achieving the MDGs.
