How does this differ from OGC's civil society work?
While OGC´work on civil society is focused on those aspects relating to democratic governance, the Civil Society Division looks at civil society and civic engagement as issues cutting across all UNDP practice areas. The Civil Society Division has traditionally focused on the most dynamic and operational dimension of engaging civil society in UNDP strategies, programmes and projects. Lastly, the Division promotes and monitors the implementation of the UNDP policy of engagement with civil society by which civil society is a valuable and indispensable partner towards human development and achieving the millennium development goals.
