Now Online - UN Practitioners Portal on HRBA!
20 July 2009:
www.hrbaportal.org
The Practitioners Portal brings together a wide range of resources on integrating human rights-based approaches (HRBA) into development programming, making them accessible to users through a single entry point (www.hrbaportal.org).
During the last decade, the UN and other actors including donors and civil society have accumulated a wide range of knowledge and experience in mainstreaming HRBA into development. The Practitioners' Portal pools together this knowledge and practical experience into a single environment, providing users with a convenient ‘one-stop shop’ on HRBA. The aim of the portal is to support and encourage practitioners working to apply a HRBA in their work by providing them with easily accessible experience and resources in this area.
The portal - currently available in Beta Version - is a work in progress. Because the site has been developed as a tool for practitioners, we want to hear from you on how the portal meets your needs. Tell us what you like; what should be changed; and what you’d like to see added. Send us your comments, suggestions for additional resources and feedback by using the feedback form available on the site.
What the Portal Offers:
HRBA in the UN System: Information on the UN Common Understanding on HRBA, the Common Learning Package on HRBA and 2009 Guidelines for programming HRBA into the CCA/UNDAF;

This project has been funded by the Action 2 Interagency programme on Human Rights, and implemented by the UNDP Oslo Governance Centre under the leadership of Nav Purewall. Thank you to our web developer, Eduardo Verillo and to Huritalk members who provided feedback along the way.
We hope you’ll enjoy looking around the portal. Please forward to colleagues that may be interested in learning about this initiative. We are appreciate any comments you may have on how to improve the beta version of the site. Please email Nav Purewall (nav.purewall@undp.org) with your comments and suggestions.
