Overall objective: The Emergency Response and Transitional Recovery (ERTR) Programme commenced activities in January 2005 in the immediate aftermath of the tsunami disaster of 26 December 2004. Since the first deployment of staff and commencement of activities within two weeks of the disaster, the Programme has since expanded to cover activities in over 330 villages across the region affected by the tsunami.
