- Allanblackia Oil Supply Chain Project
In Tanzania, UNDP's Growing Sustainable Business initiative brought
together the Dutch company Unilever, the World Conservation Union,
the Netherlands Foreign Ministry and the World Agroforestry Centre.These
partners are working with local communities and businesses to cultivate
Allanblackia trees, which yield seeds used in soap and margarine,
along with a source of local revenues and jobs. More...
- Support to the electoral process in the RDC
Overall objective: The objective of the present project
is to support the electoral process in the DRC. In this capacity,
it serves in the first place as a framework for mobilizing and managing
financial resources. It also supports the Independent Electoral Commission
(CEI), the responsible structure for organizing and carrying out free,
transparent and democratic elections, by making available technical
consultants for the census, the sensitizing of voters, and the electoral

Overall objective: The objective of the study,
to which Novib (Ofxam Netherlands) contributes actively, is to provide
essential data for the formulation of a national policy to curb
the proliferation of small arms in Burundi, taking into account

- Women in Politics Project, Sudan
Overall objective: The purpose of this project
is to contribute to good governance based on partnerships between
men and women in the political sphere – partnerships that
are instrumental to realizing human rights and achieving sustainable

Overall objective: The project aims to reverse
existing community peer-pressure so that village communities can emancipate
themselves and their girls from the practice of Female Genital Mutilation

- Support to the National Council for Human Rights, Egypt
Overall objective: NCHR has an effective, transparent,
and modern support system obtained through capacity building and
empowerment. This will be achieved through: 1.) Assisting in the
formulation of internal systems 2.) Strengthening the Council's
Committee & its staff 3.) Strengthening external dialogue with

Asia and the Pacific
- Aceh Emergency Response and Transitional Recovery Programme,
Indonesia
Overall objective: The Emergency Response and Transitional
Recovery (ERTR) Programme commenced activities in January 2005 in the
immediate aftermath of the tsunami disaster of 26 December 2004. Since
the first deployment of staff and commencement of activities within
two weeks of the disaster, the Programme has since expanded to cover
activities in over 330 villages across the region affected by the tsunami.

- Disaster Risk reduction in DN, Vietnam
Overall objective:To control and eradicate the
H5N1 - Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) in domestic poultry.
The programme will also build the capacity of the Vietnamese public
health system so that in the longer term, the country can manage future
outbreaks caused by pathogenic organisms. More...
- Kei Islands Peace Building Programme, Indonesia
Overall objective:The Kei Islands Peace Building
Programme provides assistance to 98 villages in the Kei Islands that
have suffered inter-community clashes since 1999. Now that the islands
are relatively calm, the project is enhancing access to basic needs
through improvements to key community services and infrastructure.
This support extends to the rehabilitation of schools, clinics, water

- Papua Development Programme, Indonesia
Overall objective: The Government of the Royal Kingdom
of the Netherlands will join UNDP to support this programme which is
aimed at strengthening government and civil society capacities to achieve

- Sustainable Transfer to Return-related Authorities (SUTRA),
Bosnia
Overall objective: The SUTRA (SUstainable Transfer to Return-related
Authorities) project is a joint undertaking of EU, UNDP and the
BiH Ministry for Human Rights and Refugees, in cooperation with
entity line ministries, Brcko District, the BiH Return Fund and
the Royal Netherlands Embassy, which aims to enable local authorities
across the country to effectively coordinate, strategically plan
and successfully manage the return and reintegration of refugees

Latin America and the Caribbean
- Resource mobilisation for HIV (Trinidad & Tobago)
Overall objective: UNDP Trinidad and Tobago, in collaboration
with the Netherlands, supports the process by advocating for the building
of national capacity to manage initiatives both in and out of the
health sector as well as placing HIV/AIDS at the centre of national
planning and budgets. This project aims to sensitize the Government
to appreciate that the national response should be an expanded coordinated
