Participating UN Organizations

Memorandum of Understanding

Under the pass-through fund management modality that is utilized by the Sudan Recovery Fund - Southern Sudan (SRF-SS), United Nations organizations have signed a standardized Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Multi-Donor Trust Fund (MDTF) Office of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) as Administrative Agent (AA) of the SRF-SS. The entities that sign an MOU are referred to as “Participating UN Organizations”.

Each Participating UN Organization assumes full programmatic and financial accountability for the funds disbursed to it by the AA and for the implementation of projects funded through the SRF-SS. It also provides regular financial and narrative reports on its activities to the AA and the SRF-SS Technical Secretariat respectively, for onward submission to donors through the Steering Committee, as described in the MOU.

Each Participating UN Organization’s indirect costs will be 7% and will be reflected in the project proposal approved by the Steering Committee.

To date, the following UN Organizations have signed an MOU with the Administrative Agent:

Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO)   United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF)
United Nations Development Programme (UNDP)   United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP)
United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR)   United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA)
