NGO Executed Projects

To ensure accessibility to non-governmental organizations (NGOs) who are often the only realistic provider of basic services during the period of recovery, NGOs and Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) will be invited to submit SRF-SS proposals alone or jointly with a participating UN Organization.

In accordance with the allocation strategy adopted by the Steering Committee, an Expression of Interest will be issued to solicit applications from NGOs interested in participating in the Fund. NGO implementation capacity will be screened in line with standardized capacity assessment criteria, and a roster of eligible organizations will be established.

NGOs and CSOs may receive SRF-SS funding as project executing agents by signing a project cooperation agreement with a nominated Participating UN Organization, playing an oversight function in accordance with its own regulations, rules and procedures. This is the same arrangement as the one used for the Sudan Common Humanitarian Fund (CHF) and the Darfur Community Peace and Stability Fund (DCPSF).
