Participating UN Organizations

Memorandum of Understanding

United Nations organizations that formulate project proposals to be submitted for funding under the Central Fund for Influenza Action (CFIA) are required to sign the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the UNDP MDTF Office as Administrative Agent of the CFIA. The MOU sets out the duties and responsibilities of each party. The entities that sign the MOU are referred to as "Participating UN Organizations".

Each Participating UN Organization assumes full programmatic and financial accountability for the CFIA funds disbursed to it by the Administrative Agent and provides various reports on its activities, as described in the MOU.

Through a Participating UN Organization, other international organizations, non-governmental organizations and national entities may receive funds from the CFIA based on a project agreement concluded, as an implementing partner, with the Participating UN Organization in accordance with the regulations, rules and procedures of the latter.

The following Participating UN Organizations have signed the MOU with the Administrative Agent:

United Nations Development Programme (UNDP)   United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR)
United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF)   World Tourism Organization (UNWTO)
World Food Programme (WFP)
