OverviewTerms of ReferenceThe Darfur Community Peace and Stability Fund (DCPSF) has been established on 24 October 2007 to promote peacebuilding and reconciliation in Darfur through the implementation of community-based recovery and development activities. Under the overall authority of DCPSF Steering Committee, chaired by the UN Resident Coordinator (RC), the DCPSF is a pooled funding mechanism intended to channel funds towards the most critical needs and encourage early donor contributions. The UN and its partners will apply to this fund to support priority programmes and projects promoting peace and stability in Darfur. The scope of the DCPSF will focus on, though is not limited to, the following areas:
Priority programmes and projects of the DCPSF will be implemented by a range of organizations such as UN Organizations, the International Organization for Migration (IOM), Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) and Civil Society Organizations (CSOs). |

News5 May 2008 – Norway has pledged NOK 5 million to the DCPSF. 4 April 2008 – Italy has pledged EUR 2 million to the DCPSF. 14 February 2008 – The United Kingdom has signed its first commitment to the DCPSF (GBP 5 million). 31 January 2008 – The Inaugural meeting of the DCPSF Steering Committee was held in Khartoum, Sudan. 21 December 2007 – Germany has signed the first Letter of Agreement to support the DCPSF (EUR 350,000). 24 October 2007 – The Darfur Community Peace and Stability Fund (DCPSF) was established.
