Biography

Jill Hannon 

Jill Hannon is the Secretariat Manager of the Commission on Legal Empowerment of the Poor where as an integral member of the team she ensures the effective functioning of the Secretariat by contributing administrative and policy support and coordinating both internally and with external partners including multilateral institutions, government ministries, private sector bodies, civil society actors and other stakeholders. Jill manages the overall program of the Secretariat and the planning and logistics for all Commission events at UN Headquarters and worldwide while also administrating the Secretariat’s technology and data system and editing and producing the Commission’s quarterly newsletter.

Jill brings advanced skills gained in both the corporate sector and in the arts in project and data management, technology and writing, including her tenure in project management as a technology specialist at the international law firm of Latham and Watkins LLP.

Jill received an M.A. in the Humanities from the University of Chicago (2003) with a concentration in Chinese Language, Human Rights and Law and a B.A. in English from the University of Vermont (2000). She has also been a visiting student in Philosophy and English at Oxford University.
