ACE - The Electoral Knowledge Network

Meeting the Needs of Today’s Electoral Administrators
The ACE Electoral Knowledge Network is an authoritative information resource on nearly every aspect of elections. It provides an electronic environment for professionals to generate, share and apply knowledge on managing elections.

Electoral administrators face enormous financial, logistical and political challenges that can leave them low on morale and unwilling to continue their functions through another electoral cycle, thus creating a debilitating gap in institutional memory and capacity. This evolving challenge translates into a corresponding need for additional tools and processes that practitioners can use to enhance their skills in the field of electoral administration and network more effectively with their peers.

The ACE Electoral Knowledge Network addresses the contemporary needs of election practitioners by giving them access to the ACE online encyclopaedia on electoral knowledge, a network of experts offering “real-time” answers and various capacity-development initiatives.

The products accessible through ACE help practitioners and Academics:
  • Solve problems in election management by leveraging and sharing comparative data
  • Improve the professionalism of those engaged in electoral activities through capacity- development initiatives
  • Promote and disseminate guiding principles, options and best practices
  • Help build public trust in electoral processes.

All products and services offered through the ACE Electoral Knowledge Network are supported by a partnership of seven organizations that are leaders in the provision of targeted electoral assistance: the UNDP, IDEA, the Instituto Federal Electoral, IFES–Democracy at Large, Elections Canada, EISA and the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs. Materials will be available in English, French and Spanish.
