As of April 2004, more than 100 countries have offered to host workshops under the Programme. These offers are evaluated by the CDW inter-agency steering committee using criteria that may include: convention ratification, no previous GEF awareness or project development workshops, cost effectiveness, lack of strong GEF portfolio/pipeline, significance of concerns in one or more focal areas, submission of biological diversity national reports or climate change national communications, and regional balance. Requests for Workshops should come from GEF Operational Focal Points (OFP) and be addressed to:
