'.

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) shined brightly at the Third Annual United Nations Documentary Film Festival in New York on Saturday, winning top honors in the short-film category and seeing a feature film highlighting a UNDP partnership with the International Maritime Organization (IMO) take the prize for best UN feature.

The IMO/BBC Documentary on Ballast Water 'Invaders from the Sea' wins 1st (gold) award for the Best UN Feature Film at the 3rd UN Film Festival. IMO is executing the Global Ballast Water Management Project (GloBallast) in partnership with the Global Environment Facility (GEF), and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), to assist developing countries to reduce the transfer of harmful aquatic organisms and pathogens in ships' ballast water and to build capacity for legal, policy and institutional reforms in line with the new international regulatory regime adopted by IMO.
