UNDP praised for outstanding collaboration
in early action Protected Areas project

The Convention on Biological Diversity Executive Secretary Ahmed Djoghlaf has congratulated UNDP and GEF in his opening address to the Second Ad-hoc Working group on Protected Areas (Rome, February 11).

Mr Djoghlaf cited UNDP's work as the implementing agency for the global project on Country Early Action to support the CBD Programme of Work on Protected Areas as an example of 'outstanding collaboration'. More than half of the working group's delegates also mentioned the project in their country statements.
