Programmes/ProjectsUNDP/GEF Capacity Development and Adaptation UNDP’s role in capacity development and sustainable development improves the capacity of development countries to address environmental issues. The Capacity Development and Adaptation group of the UNDP-GEF team was established to oversee Enabling Activities that are linked to capacity development and adaptation from the perspective of the global environment. Cross-cutting environmental issues are central to efforts under the National Adaptation Programme of Action (NAPA), National Capacity Self Assessments (NCSA) and climate change enabling activities. Capacity 2015 is a global partnership mechanism assisting countries to develop the capacity of their professionals, institutions, and systems to formulate and implement strategies for sustainable development to achieve local, national, and international development goals. Capacity 2015 works with developing and transitional countries to build and develop their capacity for sustainable development based on proven successes. |
