UNDP and the European Union  

UNDP provides the tools and resources necessary for people to build a better life and realise their natural human rights, working through a network of network of country, regional and liaison offices around the world and in partnership with UN, international, multilateral and civil society organizations. The UNDP Office in Brussels represents the organization – and the UN General Secretariat – to the European Union institutions as well as to non-governmental and civil society organizations and to the diplomatic and media communities. The European Union, through its executive branch, the European Commission (EC), and the European Parliament, European Council and EU member states, is founded on the principles of freedom, democracy and the rule of law. As one of UNDP's key global partners, the EC supports initiatives that deliver tangible results and improve lives in over 100 countries around the world.
