The Millennium Development Goals and Local Processes:
Hitting the Target or Missing the Point

To celebrate the launch of a challenging report on local processes and the MDGs, IIED, together with the Equator Initiative and other partners, convened this important meeting in London on 18 November 2003. The gathering brought together 100 leading activists and development professionals from more than 33 countries to discuss the way that the global community is currently approaching poverty reduction through the MDGs and determine what steps are needed to ensure their successful implementation by 2015.
